iPhone 17 pro max: Multiple Apps not working

Just got the new 17 pro max. Moved everything from my 16 pro max to the new phone and have nothing but issues since. YouTube won’t play videos. Just brings up a black box with no sound or video playing. Same with YouTube tv. Apps that require sign in like Disney plus constantly tell me it couldn’t connect or had issues of some kind before I’ve even attempted to input a password. TikTok only plays 1/2 a video before it needs to load. Games like destiny rising get to the homepage but has no server associated with it, and the drop down list for the server shows nothing. Browsing both safari and chrome are incredibly slow. ESPN is also slow.


its not my WiFi or the 5G. Everything I’ve mentioned above works perfectly still on my 16 pro max. I’ve erased everything from the phone multiple times and tried using backups from the new phone and the old phone. Is anyone else experiencing anything similar/have a fix? This is INCREDIBLY frustrating.

Hey, I have iPhone 17 pro max and iOS 26.0.1. YouTube and other apps seemed to have network issues (kept loading/not working properly).


If your iPhone 17 doesn’t work properly & you already did the following:

• delete & reinstall apps that are not working

• restart iPhone

• reset network settings, restart iPhone

• check WiFi and internet connection

• reset iPhone


If you did all that and your apps still have network issues, it could be VPN.


First check if your VPN is off.

Mines was off.


However, if you use apps that ask for VPN (like Survey apps) that’s it. It doesn’t show unless you go into Settings > General > VPN & Device Management.


If you have an app on there that asks for VPN turn that off.


As soon as I did that, it fixed.

Even if you reset network settings, because this is an app setting it doesn’t get reflected and you will continue to have the issue.


I just did that this morning and now my apps work perfectly fine so try give it a try if you’re having issues.

I just upgraded from the 16 Pro Max to the 17 Pro Max and I am having issues with Safari web browsing and other apps as well.


Web sites load really slow, if at all. Some times the site will not load unless I swipe out of Safari and come back to it. "Magically" the web page loads but there are still images or graphics missing. This happens with a WiFi or network only connection. I also browse in privacy mode - so there should be no issues with browser history.


I also noticed in the Images app within Messages when looking for gifs, images will not load while on the network, however, when I connect to Wifi images load.


I think it may be an issue with the phones still "indexing". Maybe I should have just did a clean install.

I am having problems with some apps after upgrading from iPhone 13 Pro to 17 Pro. Here are my two most annoying issues right now:


  • Chess.com via safari refuses to match opponents 95% of time. (I don’t use the app because it is too addicting). It does work properly with Chrome.
  • Jira app just stalls on brand splash page and won’t actually open.


I’ll update as I find workarounds or other problems.

I upgraded from iPhone 13 to iPhone 17 Pro Max. My husband upgraded to the iPhone Pro 17. We are both having problems. We can’t listen to music. It says loading. . Not playing and then a box comes up with a message. I am so frustrated! These phones are not cheap and I expect them to work better than this. Safari will not work and other APPS. I have force started iPhone, I have reset network settings. I have deleted the Music APP and than added it again. Nothing works. It is sorta comforting to see others are having this same problem.
