could someone please assist me in setting up an appointment at my local Apple Store. my MacBook is brand new and does not need to be repaired. the options on the apple web site appear too limited and certainly not user friendly. thank you

and click the "Service and Support link. It should give you something like this:
Select your store and scroll to find the "view Store website" link and click it.
Now you have the store's page header showing option links, including Genius Bar appointments:
⚠️ HOWEVER, be prepared to hear that appointments are booked "way out." Apple just released new iPhones and new OS versions so Genius Bars may be busier than a one-legged cat in a litter box.🐈
