Windows 11 and the Migration Assitant

Hi there,

I've spent hours trying to get the migration assistant to play ball with Windows 11... but have had no joy. The issues appears to be that the Microsoft security processor prevents the Apple "Bonjour" module from running or at least that is what a Windows pop up is telling me.

There is also the problem that Windows 11 doesn't really let you turn off the Antimalware background process, even if you disable the virus protection and firewall.

In a nutshell, the 'easy to use, seamless' transfer runs in to no end of issues.

Has anyone here managed to get it to work?

NONE of the standard advice has worked for me, including installing a not so good 3rd party virus protection/ firewall (that magically manages to shut down all those very resistant windows security processes), that you can actually pause.

Cheers, Marie

I understand how frustrating it can be when migration issues and Windows security settings interfere with your setup, especially on a Mac with Bootcamp and Windows 11. The problems you're describing—especially the security processor blocking Apple Bonjour and the difficulty disabling Windows security processes—are common hurdles when trying to seamlessly migrate or set up Windows on a Mac.
