I have just tried to set up my Apple Watch Series 10 on my new iPhone 17 Pro Max. It’s paired and synced but I keep getting a message saying I need to sign in with my Apple ID. When I do it just gives an error saying "Verification Failed, an unknown error occurred”.
The watch worked fine before swapping phones.

Did you pair your watch to the new iPhone as explained in this related article, first restoring the new 17Pro Max from the backup of the old iPhone and then pairing the watch to the new iPhone?

Hi, yes I did. I’m not sure what’s changed but my watch settings have gone and sorted themselves out. Very strange.
If your watch is now working as expected, it took a little longer to transfer and sync all settings.
