How to remove duplicate photos from iPhone 13?

That means that Photos hasn't found any duplicates. If you have recently upgraded the OS, it can take quite a while, like a week for a large Library, to scan for duplicates.

Photos will find some pictures that are nearly the same, but are not identical, so be careful in deleting them. Here's a pair that Photos has been telling me about for years:

But, they're different, and I really want to keep both. Show just a caution-- don't hit the "Merge" button too soon.

In Photos' Utility section near the bottom of the screen:

Merge means that the duplicates are moved to Recently Deleted, and the "keeper" has haded some of the properties of the deleted one. Most of us try to look very closely at each set of duplicates-- they may not be exactly alike.
