Mac mini 2018 (Intel) being asked to upgrade to Safari 26.0.1

I have a Mac mini 2018 (Intel processor) and I know that macOS 26 (Tahoe) will not be supported anymore on Intel Macs, but now I can see that I can upgrade to Safari 26.0.1. The version number there seems to say that it is part of macOS 26, if I am not mistaken. Is it okay to upgrade and have different versions for Safari vs. macOS?

Thanks.

You're doubly mistaken. 😉

Tahoe still supports some Intel Macs. Not many, but still some, just not your Mac mini.

Safari 26, is available for Sequoia and Sonoma on older Macs too.

So yes, you can get the newest Safari 26 version on your Mac mini without updating to macOS 26.
