I have become a blocked sender on my own Mail account

I have become, since upgrading to Tahoe and IOS26, a blocked sender on my own Mail account. If I send a test mail to myself it goes straight to bin and every email I have sent in the Sent Folder is now shown as a Blocked Sender. I have gone to Settings - Privacy & Security and then Blocked Contacts and unblocked myself and my associated block phone addresses and then close the App. Reopen Mail and I am back as a blocked sender again - in fact in the Sent folder the status never changes it is just in settings I remove the block. I can seemingly send mail and receive a reply from and external mail source.

MacBook Air, macOS 26.0

Resolved - it appears that with IOS26 it took my contact card and made me a blocked contact and it would not allow me to delete it in Settings. We had to open Contacts and delete my contact cards that had any common emails/phone numbers on. As soon as we did that I was no longer noted in Sent Mail as a blocked sender and no longer in the Settings - Blocked Contacts list. It took an hour + and they are escalating it but it will be reported to Engineers as a possible emerging problem in IOS26.

I just tested to myself from my computer and the message showed up on my M4 Pro Macbook Pro running Tahoe, my iPhone running iOS 26, and an older iMac running 10.14 Mojave. So it is not a systemic issue.


Are you running any aftermarket security software , anti-virus, or so-called "cleaning" apps. A client-side VPN like those over-hyped in TV ads?

I have the same problem. Spent 2 hours with Apple Support without resolving issue. I was told that this was not being looked into by the technicians as not enough people seem to have this problem.

Then noticed myself being blocked in contacts, deleted my own card, set up my card new and all worked for a day. Now everything back to what it was. Unblocking contact does not work, all sent emails marked as from blocked contact etc. Deleting „my card“ in contacts seems to be the only way. Not what I expect of Apple.

Hi thanks for the feedback. No I am not running any other anti-virus software. The issue is even when I unblock myself after I close Settings and reopen it and go to Blocked Senders - I am back on the list again and it includes my private and work mobiles and my work emails - basically my contact details are put into the blocked list as a sender. It doesn't seem to prevent me sending out or receiving replies but if I do a test from myself to myself it shoots it straight to the bin not even Junk. When open the Sent folder in Mail every single email has me as a blocked sender. I did have an email - from a known sender with an attachment that was a .png screenshot - this was opened on my phone albeit it seemed to take time to so - I don't know however if this issue existed before that.
