I use dark mode. Why is the UI fuzzy or in fog now?

My iPad mini 5 updated to 26 (did not think this old model would and I did not want it).

Why is the UI like looking into a San Francisco Bay cloud bank?

Maybe dark mode should not attempt to be like an update that involves light and reflection? These are the antithesis of dark.
