iPhone 14 Pro Max stuck on Apple logo that disappears and reappears while overheating when installing iOS 26

I found these instructions while doing further research. I couldn't get DFU working by the Apple instructions, but this worked. Once in DFU, a window finally popped up on my iMac for my phone and it helped me get to the restore stage (still waiting for that to complete) and the battery is coming back up!

- Press and release the Volume Up button

- Press and release the Volume Down button

- Press and hold the Power Button until the screen goes black

- Once on black screen, immediately hold Volume Down button for 5 seconds while holding the Power Button

- Hold both buttons for 5 seconds

- After 5 seconds, release the Power Button while still holding the Volume Down button for 5 seconds.

Update: iPhone turned into a brick with a red-line battery logo. Will not charge. I dearly wish there was a warning included somewhere that iOS 26 might kill your phone.
