HomePod 2nd Gen Not Working Properly After iOS 26 Update on iPhone 14 Pro

After updating my iPhone 14 Pro to iOS 18 (formerly iOS 26 in beta), my HomePod 2nd generation no longer functions correctly. I’m unable to play YouTube audio via AirPlay from my iPhone to the HomePod. However, everything works smoothly when using my MacBook Air M2 and iPad Air M2, both running the latest updates.

Is anyone else experiencing this issue? Any fixes or suggestions would be appreciated!

Have you also updated HomePod to OS26? , if not, please do so.

Something might have been changed in your location. I just had to check mine and fix it.

go into Settings - Your Name at the top - Find My and if you see what I had here where it says iPad, tap on the blue “use this phone as my location” and it should switch to “this device”. Then test airplay again

This is how it appeared before I fixed it:

after I fixed it which is how it should be:

Ok this is weird. After I fixed my iPhone to this device, my iPad switched its location to iPhone. I switched it to iPad and now my phone went back to iPad . This is no good for AirPlay. I need to test my AirPlay now on both devices.

Ok it seems you might need to do this a couple of times to rectify the wrong location. Mine isn’t switching back now and both devices AirPlay
