Apps seems to use a confusing capricious organization system - is there an alternative?
Apps, has decided that terminal and Xcode are productivity and financial applications. This seems bizarre on its face, but is pretty much par for many of the categories.
under launchpad, I relied on the organization of applications into work related groupings, making it easy to find related apps I needed to open, including seldom used ones where the name of the app is not necessarily on my mind.
I had the IDEs and editors I use in a group, the terminal applications in another, billing and invoicing apps - and the associated time logging in another group.
All the non-disclosure and other confidential apps were in their own groups.
my work flows were highly optimized around this organization.
The inability to move applications between categories, or even define new categories is negatively impacting me. It's not simply "this is new" or "resistance to change"
I underestimated the impact of the switch to applications vs launch pad.
I was trying to avoid relying on a third party app manager, but it appears I may have to.
My experience with Tahoe is not positive, as it is impacting my (billable) time.
any settings I'm missing, or options, or work arounds?
thanks
