Music app UI issues after macOS Tahoe update

Does anyone else see the music app's UI go crazy weird after updating to macOS Tahoe?

mainly with the header in the full screen where the top bar is just empty

when the queue is opened the header of that portion is stuck at a position even after scrolling through it

the music history is lost.

I don't know it's just weird and troublesome, not liking it at all, apple please do something

or just hire me, I might have a few great ideas for the music app. I can share my resume if needed XD

This might help with your Album Art but no guarantees

Here's a workaround. Per tidbits.com (link below), you can disable Liquid Glass on a per-app basis. Stop the Music app, open the Terminal app and enter the command

defaults write com.apple.Music com.apple.SwiftUI.DisableSolarium -bool YES

then restart the Music app. This will revert the two most noxious changes to the app in my eyes: returns the controls to their rightful place at the top of the window, and restores the status bar at the bottom of the playlist in "View as Songs" mode.

You can revert to the godawful Liquid Glass nonsense by repeating the process and replacing YES with NO, if such a perverse urge should occur to you. More details about the process (and options to implement this system-wide) available at this link (many thanks to TidBits for publishing this):

where is the number of total songs ? before the Tahoe it was showing on the bottom i.e. status bar ...

I have a Mac mini m4 and Mac Studio, the music app showing UI are different , is there a way to show the oval area (play, shuffle with total no. of songs?

Only after scrolling up or down a list, the number of songs/items appears at top left. Weird.

Yes, in every view (i.e., not just Playlist View) and for the love of god- not at the bottom of the playlist.

How is THAT an improvement? I like having the playing controls and track progress bar on the top. Having them on the bottom is just distracting.

Most of the album art is gone. Song have been separated from the albums they were part of.

I would love to hear how to get my library appear as it did before the upgrade to Tahoe.

The status bar is gone! The show status menu does nothing. Strangely, it changes to hide status bar even though no status bar!!

There is a tiny status area, top left of the Music window (to the right of the navigation bar), that - for me at least - responds correctly when I hide/show from the menu bar View menu.

They also removed the "Add to Favorites" and "Suggest Less" options from the mini-player. As such, those who are using mini-player now have to go back into the main music section to do those things.

I had the issue with space bar not starting/stopping and then it mysteriously disappeared. It's been working ever since. I do, however, have numerous other issues with Music.

The ability to add artwork is still there. In the get info window on the artwork tab there's still an add artwork button.
