How can I unlock my damaged and locked iPhone without Apple ID?

how to unlock a locked iPhone that is mine? i mean the device, not my apple id? It broke the screen, and the destroyed screen entered passcode attempts all the time, so the phone got locked eventually for good. I have stored things I need on the device itself, things that is not backed up to my Apple ID. How can I get access to this device? I have all the codes I need, but locked is locked.

If the data exists only on the phone, it is gone.

Depending on how you had the phone set up, the phone may have already wiped itself when the damaged screen entered the tenth (and final) incorrect passcode. But even if it didn't, now that the phone is locked up, there is no way back in without erasing it and wiping all of the data on it.

To the best of my knowledge, there's no magic "back door" that would allow Apple to get in, either. The system is designed to encrypt the data stored in flash and to safeguard the encryption key. Maybe if you were the NSA or the successor agency to the KGB, and you had special hardware, and unlimited funds, and you thought that the phone contained the other side's top nuclear secrets, there would be some way to "crack" the Secure Enclave – but for all ordinary intents and purposes, forget it.

If the data was not backed up, or synchronized elsewhere, or copied elsewhere, before the catastrophe, sorry. It's gone, and you've just learned a very painful lesson about the need to back up your data in the future.

Is there any way to extract some of the photos from the phone?

No.

How locked is the phone really?

Extremely locked down. If you want an introduction to the gory details, see

Will it be visible connected to a mac via usb?

To let you reset it and wipe all the data on it, sure. To let you pull data off of it, no. That data is either already wiped ("If the Erase Data option is turned on …") – or is as good as wiped, because there's no way you will be allowed to get back in without wiping it.

If you replaced the screen, the repair/replacement process erased any data present on the phone.

Why is the iPhone locked if you had the screen replaced?

The iPhone should have been returned to you with the "hello" screen visible, so you could set up the phone again.

But, I'll repeat again for you that if you did not have a current back up of the phone on iCloud or a computer...before.....the screen problems occurred, you have no data to restore to the phone.

There is no data on a locked device. That is what that particular lock means. No data.

You will need to send an Activation Lock request to Apple, and convince them to unlock Activation Lock.

If Apple grants an override to Activation Lock, there will still be no data on the iPhone. It will need a reset.

I’m experiencing the same issue as you. My iPhone screen was damaged and locked after multiple failed passcode attempts, leaving me with no choice but to visit Apple for help.

Apple advisor struggled to “force” a restart due to the black screen. They need to remove the device from "Find My" in order for their diagnostic tool can detect the device. Despite multiple tires, they still couldn’t remove the iPhone from Find My and are advising me to send it in for their Apple engineer to replace the screen without a diagnosis.

Thankfully, my data is still retained.

You told us earlier that "It broke the screen, and the destroyed screen entered passcode attempts all the time, so the phone got locked eventually for good."

So the phone was erased, and any data that you did not have stored elsewhere (data that you describe as "some important pictures") is gone.

If the device was erazed when it got locked, why didn’t apple norway tell me this over the phone? The device is not lost or stolen, there must be some way to get hold on to some of the data on the phone. I dont think apple is of any help here. What would steve jobs do in the same situation?

Steve Jobs would tell you to always backup your data and your phone will also do it automatically as long as you were allowing your phone to backup to iCloud. Apple always recommends to back up your data before service and since your phone had the screen broken, that would not be possible in your case. You would have had no way to access your data even if you did not take it in for service with the broken screen.

It is simple. Your data was lost because it was not backed up. You were locked out because of the failed Passcode attempts and to gain access would require the device to be erased and your data would then be restored from the backup, if you had one.
