How to remove 'page x of x' from "Print Preview" in macOS 15.61?

I understand that you’re trying to get rid the page selection 'buttons' in the print preview dialog box, but I don't know of any way to do that.

As a workaround, you can click the PDF button at the bottom and open the file in Preview to get a 'clean' preview, then go back and print it (or print directly from the Preview app).

Also, I notice that Microsoft Word does not use the sidebar like other apps, but rather previews one full page at a time, with nothing overlaid on the page.

If you're printing a 10 page document an want to exclude page #5 you can do it 1 of two ways:

1 - convert to PDF format (i.e. print to PDF) open the PDF in Preview, bring up the Sidebar, select page 5, delete it and print.

2 - in print preview select this option:

and print twice: once from 1 to 4 and again 6 to 10.

I don't of a way to customize that view and remove the "page x of y" text label. If it is really a deal breaker for you, you can select "Print to PDF" and save the printout as a pdf file, then inspect that pdf file where you will be able to see 100% of each "printed" page, then if it meets with your approval you can then return to Print and print all the pages (or some subset of them). It's a two step process but I don't think there is a different way to go about this. So I would call this a "workaround" not a full solution to your query, but it's the best I can come up with.
