I have activated the "AppleTV+ On Us" benefit from my T-Mobile account. It shows as active on the TMO site. It is not working on my Nvidia Shield or my PC, instead asking me to sign up for a one-week AppleTV+ trial. Why doesn't this work?

The T-Mobile redeem procedure would ask you to supply an Apple Account (email address for that existing account), to link the subscription to. The subscription will then be valid for that account, when signed in to the Apple TV app or website with those credentials.
To sign in to the Apple TV app, choose the [Sign In with QR]/[Sign In with Remote] option, then enter your Apple Account credentials.
To sign in to the website (on computers), click the blue [Sign In] button in the upper right corner, then enter your Apple Account credentials.
