Adding vinyl album cover artwork fails on Windows 10 and 11, but works on a Mac

I am uploading vinyl records that have never been issued on CD. Using a ION turntable to upload to Window 10 on my laptop. Then emailing file to my desktop which has Windows 11. This is the only way I can do it. Ion does not work on W11. But when I try to add the album cover which I do hundreds of times with a CD upload the add artwork button looks disabled. I know vinyl is analog but cant believe artwork wont upload. Tried it on my son's MAC and it uploads perfectly! Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks,

Gene

The fact that the original source was vinyl won't be the issue. Once it's a digital file, that's what iTunes will see.

From your description; that the artwork button is disabled, it suggests to me that the file may be Read-only. To check for this, look at the file's permissions in Windows Explorer. Right-click the file (in Explorer, not iTunes) and from the pop-up menu look at Properties/General>Attributes>Read-only. That box needs to be empty (not ticked/checked). If it is ticked, remove the tick and then try adding the artwork.
