Recurring payment shows sent but is not received

I pay my son his allowance through a recurring payment on Apple Cash. It shows as sent on my end, but it doesn’t show as received on his end. Some weeks it does show up. I’m trying to figure out what’s going on.

To the best of my knowledge current US banking regulations do not allow children under 13 to use an electronic wallet such as Apple Wallet.
