Apple Gift Cards not working and customer support unable to resolve issue

Purchased two cards . Have done before but not with large dollar amounts, sent to hubby to use. When he went to use them came up not valid?

contacted 800 number on card sent in all valid details and waited for week or so , then received email saying they were unable to resolve the issue?

I called as I wanted answers to questions of why, as this was my hard earned money to help hubby! Now I’m out that large amount and they can’t tell me where my money is?

This is just not right!
