I've got an old iPod Model MB029LL With lots of music and photos on it and we've tried unsuccessfully with Apple tech support to get it onto our new MacBook Air.
Any ideas?

Your music is synced from your computer to your iPod. The music should still be on the computer used to sync. Purchased music can be downloaded again within the Apple Music app on your device.
When we did the transfer from my old Mac mini our downloaded CDs and old photo didn't come over!
