How to save Mac screenshots to Photos for access on all devices?

How do I save and where do I save my screenshots and screen recordings so I readily view, share, copy etc in my photo gallery or camera roll across all devices?

iCloud Photos would be the easiest way. When I take a screenshot on my Mac it goes to my Desktop. If I drag that to my Photos app, it will be automatically synchronized through iCloud Photos to all of the devices I have connected.


Another method (which can be a bit faster for one device and doesn't use iCloud) is to AirDrop the picture. On mobile devices an AirDropped picture goes to the Photos Library. On a Mac, it goes to the Downloads folder, though that can be changed (I think.)


Of course, you can use email or Messages to distribute pictures and files. You could also use iCloud Drive.


The method that I would choose would depend on what I was trying do.
