I found an old iPhone 5 of mine, I can’t remember the password and don’t know what email I used for the Apple ID, is there a way to retrieve photos?

If you cannot remember the passcode, there is no way to retrieve the photos from the phone itself. Even Apple would not be able to get into the phone without wiping it.
Your only hope would be if you could remember the correct passcode before the phone locked you out, or if you had copies of the photos in other places (such as iCloud Photos or iCloud backups). However, if you don't know your Apple ID, that's going to be a problem for pulling any backups or photos from iCloud.
I think the best thing you could do is take it to Apple!! That’s probably the only option sorry.
