I went swimming with the watch while water lock was on. After a couple of minutes, the digital crown registered itself that it was being pressed even though it wasnt. after drying it, it fixed itself and continued to function normall. However after i took it to bed, it kept signing me out and then started bootlooping until it died, now it just wont charge. What do I do?

How are you sure that a watch that old is actually new?
Did it come in a sealed box?
If the watch didn't require steps similar to this video to unbox it, it's not a new watch.

The Series 8 was discontinued 2 years ago. Water resistance fades over time and generally, electronics and water don't mix. Your watch likely has water damage and would need to be replaced.
Personally I dont even get my watch wet, but it is unwise to swim with it unless you have paid-for Applecare+
