Sharing photos from iphone to HDD on apfs via mac not working

I am trying to share photos vie Photo app from my iphone 14 pro max 1tb to macbook pro 15.6.1 Sequoia (always latest version).

Iphone has latest ios version.

HDD wd82purz 8tb wd purple.

When i conecting iphone - it appears in photo app > devices> iphone.

I can select max ~ 400 photos at the end of scroll- then press import- it working- but next time it does not work- i should disconnect iphone several times- to make it work again-

when i press `import all photo`- it doesnt import anything, it does not work at all!(((

Some times when i select photos ad press Import- the iphone disappears in app Photo >devices, but! It still in connected in finder - a few moment later it appears again---

Sometimes the previews of photos on iphone doesn't appears- and it means nothing will be imported- when no preview appears i nedd to reconnect the iphone cable.

Hdd is working perfect, any read and write.

The same problem when importing photos to mac storage itself.

There is no icloud connected, no icloud share inabled, no time machine.

I also tried 'image capture' app- same problem ...

Also some times i can select 2000 photos and ~660 photos will be imported- but it does not go does not go further.

Please help!

The fact that I can't properly transmit photos is very annoying.

Maybe Image Capture preferences are corrupted on that Mac? Try to move the following files to the Desktop (just in case before deleting them) and reboot and try again:

~/Library/Preferences/com.apple.Image_Capture.plist

~/Library/Preferences/com.apple.imagecapture.plist

Also do not use any 3rd party virus apps or "cleaners" because they often produce obscure errors and corruption. macOS built-in security is all you need.

Is Ignore Ownership available in the Info window for that drive and, if so , is it checked? Otherwise what the the permissions for the drive?

Have you used the drive successfully in the past to sync photos?

So it is an original Apple cable, right? Not some 3rd party cable that might not pass data correctly? Connected directly to the Mac with no hubs in between?

Does importing with /Applications/Image Capture work? If yes, you could as a workaround use it to import to some Finder folder, and then import that to Photos until the real problem is fixed.
