Macbook Pro overheating during and after charging

I have noticed that from time to time my Macbook pro heats up when charging and stays that way for a while even when I have unplugged it. Is this a fault or am I doing something wrong?

That’s pretty normal behavior on MacBook Pros, especially if you’re charging while using it for heavier tasks. The battery and power management system generate heat during charging, and the aluminum body holds onto that warmth even after you unplug. As long as the fans eventually spin down and the machine cools within 20–30 minutes, it’s not a fault.

If it stays unusually hot at idle, check Activity Monitor for runaway apps or background indexing (like Spotlight or Photos). Also make sure the vents around the hinge area aren’t blocked—these machines rely on that airflow more than people realize.
