Apple Watch Series 10 Black Coating Peeling – Warranty Experiences?

Hey everyone,

I’ve noticed that the black coating on the underside of my Apple Watch Series 10 is peeling off in certain areas. It’s definitely not from any physical damage or rough use on my part, so I’m pretty sure it’s a manufacturing defect.

I’m curious if anyone else here has experienced the same issue and if you’ve had any luck getting it covered under Apple’s official warranty. Any advice or experiences would be super helpful. Thanks a lot!

So basically, on the underside of the watch, you can see how the color is kind of bubbling up in spots. If it were physical damage, there would probably be a scratch or something like that—like paint coming off from a single point of impact. But here, the entire color layer is lifting off in a sort of bubble formation, which suggests it’s more of a manufacturing issue. Over time, these little bubbles appear in different spots and the paint just peels away. Given that, Apple really should treat this as a manufacturing defect and offer a replacement or some kind of solution.

Yeah, I actually saw that a lot of people have posted about this kind of color issue, and I noticed that they haven’t really gotten any replacement or support from Apple. It’s honestly quite disappointing. I mean, for a company as big as Apple, it’s understandable that a few batches might have this kind of defect, but they should really acknowledge it, recall those units, and replace them for free. The fact that they’re not doing that is just not right.

For instance, I’m someone in Bangladesh who bought this watch while traveling to Malaysia, and now there’s no official Apple support here in Bangladesh. It’s really frustrating. So I’m planning to send it with my sister, who’s traveling to Korea, to see if the AppleCare center there can help. I’m just hoping that they’ll understand the situation and do something about it, because it’s really disappointing to buy a new watch from a brand like Apple and have the color start peeling off so quickly. Honestly, even a cheap $4 or $5 replica from China might hold up better in terms of color. It’s just really frustrating.
