Music on Mac syncing with iPhone vs Itunes on Windows question

Before I have to resync 100+ GiB of Music to my phone, I better ask this.

Will triggering a sync from newly imported library from itunes -> Music for Mac, will trigger a WHOLE NEW sync to my iPhone which is currently syncing *for the time being* to my Windows iTunes PC.

If you had music libraries on two computers (a Mac and PC), you'd be able to go back and forth – but each time that you synchronized the iPhone against a different computer, that would wipe all of the music currently on it in favor of the selection from the "new" computer.

So it would be better to pick one computer to be the one that you consistently synchronize the iPhone against.

Is there a version of iTunes still downloadable for MacOS 15.6.1?

No. In Catalna (macOS 10.15), Apple broke up iTunes into a number of applications. These days, you would use the Music application to maintain your library, and the Finder to do manual synchronization with iPhones.

The functionality is very similar to that provided by iTunes – the controls are just shuffled around a bit.

Yeah, I'm pretty sure it gets a new internal ID. The .itl and .musiclibrary packages are not interchangeable. Back in Mojave it was still just about possible to clone a Windows library to a Mac and have an Apple device happily sync from either machine. That is no longer the case. To be honest if you really want to be able to manage your device from both platforms then Apple Music or iTunes Match essentially support that, with syncing via the cloud, and the ability to add media to your cloud synced library from any computer or device you own.
