Apple TV + subscription required for Britbox thru AppleTV

Is a subscription to “Apple TV Plus”required to view shows on the add-on Britbox subscription through AppleTV? That is, if I temporarily cancel “+” subscription, will I lose access to the Britbox channel in Apple TV?

The Britbox subscription is separate and you won’t lose access to it if you cancel Apple TV+
