Unable to shut down MacBook due to unresponsive Mail app

I can't shutdown my matchbook because of the mail I can't quit the mail

Choose Force Quit from the Apple menu and close it from there.

If your MacBook won’t shut down because the Mail app is stuck, press Command + Option + Esc, select Mail, and click Force Quit. Then try shutting down again.
