ive been trying to get apps on my macbook air 12.7.6 but i is saying that my macbook needs the update 13 but its telling me in all up to date. I need help because im so confused!

Is your MacBook Air compatible with macOS 13 (Ventura)?
You would need a MacBook Air with a hardware model year of 2018 or higher to upgrade past Monterey. The 2018 models can upgrade to Ventura or Sonoma. The 2017 ones can never move past Monterey.

new versions are never in form of updates, only revisions comes that way, you install new versions this way
