2023 M1 Max 16-inch MacBook Pro 18.2 Sequoia 15.6.1 not allowing 3 external monitors
After upgrading to Sequoia 15.6.1 2 monitors connected negates one. After reading other similar posts and working through troubleshooting I have discovered interesting situations.
Everything worked perfectly before Sequoia 15.3, then, the 2nd monitor (TCL 43" 4k TV connected via HDMI/USBC) had to be shut down, then turned on. TV switched to standby started with no connection detected. 3rd monitor, PLANAR 32" HD monitor connected to Kensington HDMI/USBC stays connected.
- 1st monitor monitor is Thunderbolt Display connected to the MacBook USBC port, no issues.
- 2nd and 3rd monitors connected via Kensington Dock
- Only one or the other displays
- Both connected results:
- Negates the 1st monitor
- 2nd monitor shows in display settings
- Apps in 1st monitor still viewable and YouTube is still playing through the 1st monitor
- Mouse is skipped over 1st monitor moving between monitors
- System report has to be closed and reopened to show monitor change
- Monitors listed are Thunderbolt and last connected to dock.
- The dock cable to the PLANAR must be disconnected to allow the TV connection active.
- This is same situation connecting both monitors to the 2 USBC ports on the MacBook. The PLANAR monitor overrides the TV?
Something has changed in the display connection of the OS. Again, this issue was not happening prior to 15.3 and is worse after 15.6.1
