Photos date and time keeps changing on my iPhone 13 Pro Photos app

One way that this has happened to me is that I have inadvertently changed some timestamps by leaving photos selected when I did not mean to change their dates/times. Then when I changed the date/time on another photo, the timestamps on every selected photo was changed by the same amount. That is expected behavior from the programmer point of view, but not from the point of view of the user who left the wrong set of photos/videos selected.

Not saying this is necessarily why you experienced the issue, just relating what I've done to myself when distracted. That was mostly on a Mac with a large screen. it would be easier to miss on the small screen of an iPhone.

This seems very unusual-- the dates on my pictures don't change on their own, and I don't think that we have seen anyone else report this.

On your phone, when you look at the Info Window's Time "Adjust" dialog, it shows the original

Obviously the 1934 date and time didn't come from GPS inside the camera-- I altered it after I scanned the picture in 2023, and that original scan date is shown.

Is it the Original date that goes haywire, or a date that you changed? And by "gallery," do you mean the Library view in Photos?

Are you viewing the Library sorted by Date Captured or by Date Added?

Excellent point-- and I've done that with one operation or another more times than I can count. It's usually on my Mac, though, so it's easier to see, and "undo" is my friend. It's a bit harder to catch on a phone.

Sounds weird. So this happens in Photos library in previously imported images, right? Where is the Photos library stored -- on the internal or external disk etc?
