Some other third party app may be the cause.
We have the same version of the Acrobat Reader (which is really now just a crippled version of Acrobat Pro) on both of our Macs. Mine is an M4 Pro mini, and my wife's is an M2 Pro mini. Both are running Sequoia 15.6.1.
On my Mac, I have no trouble launching and closing Acrobat. On the M2, it permanently hangs when you try to close it, requiring a Force Quit. Even when I removed everything from the M2 having to do with Acrobat I could find and reinstalling it from scratch, it still hangs on exit.
Where does third party come in? I created a new user account on the M2. From that clean account, I can open and close Acrobat over and over without issue. That's a very good indication something in the other user account is the problem. I haven't figured what that is yet.
