Downloading iPhone messages to Mac without external software

How to download iPhone messages to Mac computer from Iphone messages without having to purchase an external software? is there an inbuilt thing we could use on the mac's?

I have an iPhone 12 with a m4 MacBook Air.

If you use iCloud Syncing for Messages, the messages should be on your Mac in the Messages app.

However, if what you really mean is you want to export them to some other format, no, there is not built in way to do that. I use iMazing to archive my messages as pdfs.
