Apple CarPlay connection issue on iPhone XS with Ford Mach-E

I have an iPhone Xs software is up to date (18.6.1); having new onset of trouble connecting to Apple Carplay in my Ford Mach-e which also has up to date software. I have spoken with Apple and Ford and had it to the local Ford dealer twice. The second time the dealer was able to connect to carplay wirelessly with two different phones without problems. Apple was not helpful. It connects through both bluetooth and wifi app projection (a Ford term), I can connect to the wifi but it says no internet connection so I think that is where the problem is.

You should not be connecting to the Wi-Fi network provided by the Mach-E.

Just connect the iPhone to CarPlay as detailed in the Mach-E user guide. Usually by paring over bluetooth only. disconnect the phone from the car's Wi-Fi and forget the car.

The Wi-fi connection is a separate thing, and will only work if you Mach-E is equipped with a SIM card.

When paired correctly over Bluetooth, it should ask if you want to sync contacts and after that, it will pop up a dialog box on the iPhone asking you if you wish to use CarPlay. Just say yes, and the CarPlay connect screen will appear on the Mach-Es screen.
