Unable to access Apple Music after switching to Family Sharing plan

My family has purchased songs and albums individually for years. Since turning to family sharing I haven’t been able to access any Apple Music that we purchased. We do not have a subscription.

Where is the music located exactly?

What happens when you try to access them?

Family Sharing should have no effect on whatever was already synced or downloaded to your device and no you do not need any subscription to access purchases.
