After upgrading to MacOS 15.6 (24G84) I have numerous residual files sitting in a volume called "Update" which occupy approximately 35 GB on my Mac mini M1. I cannot eject the volume or delete the files on it (there are hundreds of them). My guess is the update went wrong, but how do I clean up the computer? Simple techniques like restarting or shutting down do not work. I tried WhatSize, to no avail.

To compare your M1 Mac Mini Apple Silicon to my M4 Mac Mini Apple Silicon running Sequoia 15.6

The APFS Snapshot com.apple.os.update-... 11.3 GB    disk3s1s1 >> is the Sealed and Read Only SnapShot the computer actually boots from

Yes, problem solved and yes, you can relax now 😎

You are welcome

The macOS operating system resides in a sealed and read-only volume that can’t be opened by users or third-party applications.
