How can I get timely updates on my Apple Watch repair?

I took my Apple Watch to a retail location with a Genius Bar. They said they couldn’t replace the battery onsite and would send it out for repair. After about a week I noticed the link wasn’t updating on when they would be sending my watch back. After contacting Apple I was told they would replace my watch 6 with a 10 as they couldn’t get a 6 for replacement. So far so good, right? It’s now been over a month and when I contact Apple I’m told don’t worry they’re on it but there is no proactive communication on their part and commitments made by Apple have been frequently broken. I depend on my watch for health safety reasons. What is my recourse?

Thank you for any help and apologies for the long post.

TLDR: Have had my watch in for repair over a month and I’m not able to get answers when I’ll get a replacement.

Thank you for taking the time to respond. I was hoping to get advice from people who have had similar experiences, successfully escalated and got resolution. My nearest Apple Store is almost 2 hours away and when I call the store an AI says they will connect me to someone then it rings for about 6 minutes before disconnecting me. Thank you again and please have a good rest of your day.

I appreciate you taking the time to try to help. I’ve tried each of your suggestions without being any closer to getting an answer to when I would get a replacement or any information really. That is why I resorted to seeing if anyone else had experienced this and how they were able to resolve not getting anywhere. The following is what I’ve been sent. As you can see there is no real information one might expect after waiting more than a month. There was no assistance. This was sent after I tried to reach this person from the email she sent. I asked for an update and possibly a timeline.

“Thank you for allowing Apple to assist. I appreciate your patience.

I wanted to let you know that I'm following your case closely. I'll contact you as soon as I have new information to share.
