Why is my camera automatically off when I answer FaceTime calls?
Whenever somebody FaceTimes me, my camera is always automatically off. I can see them, but they can't see me, and I have to manually press the camera on button.

Maybe to protect your privacy. Have you given privacy permission for Camera to be on in FaceTime ...
Try checking in Settings > Privacy > Camera to see whether FaceTime permission is turned on or not.
