I've got a odd Apple TV question but I dont know if its my imagination or if its actually a issue thats getting worse so please advise. Basically I have a pretty epic Movie and TV Series which I've bought first on iTunes then on Apple TV I've been working on my collection for years and as I want to keep and own everything I buy I download every Movie and every TV Series on to my two 24TB SSD's and for years the picture quality has been great. However this month or the past few weeks I've noticed the picture quality in anything I watch looks like a bad quality HD Movie even if I download it at the highest quality settings as whatever I watch no longer looks crystal clear as it did for year. First has Apple secretly changed the quality which I admit make no sense OR am I just going mad and imagining it. Has any one come across this issue?

I've tried every download setting that Apple TV has on my Mac and I tried watching it on both screens and I get the same furry quality which is odd. As a test I've just removed the download and tried to stream it as 4K and I got the same furry quality results. I have a fast StarLink connection so it cant be that. My two 24TB SSD's look healthy too so I'm just confused on the sudden loss in picture quality in both Movies and TV Series especially when they've been downloaded for ages.

I use these settings...

Also at some point in the future I really hope Apple gives us the option to personally download our bought Movies and TV Series in 4K whenever possible because this would be great.

And have you verified your Star Link connection is actually providing the full download speed it's supposed to?

Check https://speedtest.net

What does Speedtest report exactly?

Also, do note Downloads for purchased are capped a 1080p HD. so you won't get 4K downloads no matter how hard you try or how fast your internet connection is.

If your internet connection is not fast enough to sustain 4K streaming, then the quality will take a dip to something that can be sustained.
