Apple Music auto-downloads 35 GB of songs without prompt on iPhone

Please help, I recently transferred all of my music from Spotify over to Apple Music (over 31,000 songs) and during the transfer, Apple automatically downloaded every song to my hard drive. I don’t want to download all of them, I just wanted to stream them and download what I wanted. This is taking up nearly 35 GB of hard drive space on my phone.

I have already tried a solution that was posted under a similar question (going to settings > general > iphone storage > apple music) and trying to delete the music from there, but the only two options it is giving me is to offload the app or delete the app, which may be what it has to come down to because i can’t just sacrifice 35 GB of storage like that. Please help me find an alternative way to remove the mass quantities of downloads that Apple Music has downloaded to my phone without any sort of prompt to do so.
