Sending A Text Message from iPhone to Home Email. Does Not Function on my Apple Devices

I have several important longer text messages that I would like to receive on my desktop computer in email. Instead of just taking a screenshot and sending that way, I was trying to send it by using instructions I found on website to send iPhone text messages to email. However, it did not work. I also checked settings and I do not seem to have SMS as the video shows but I have iMessage. Also saw instruction where I could set up Text Message Forwarding separately or messages aren't forwarding as expected but I do not show "Text Message Forwarding. All help is appreciated.
