External drives not showing up on my MacBook Air with latest macOS

I have a MacBook Air 13” M4 1 TB. Latest macOS.

I have four external drives attached via an OWC Thunderbolt hub. Also an Apple Studio Display.

These drives are formatted APFS and used to store content and Time Machine backups.

The drives are a WD MyBook (HDD), WD MyPassport (HDD), Lacie (HDD), and Lacie (SSD). They seem to work well.

The issue is the four OTHER MyPassport which no longer show up in Finder or Disk Utility whether connected directly to the Mac or through a hub.  They had previously worked well. They won’t show up on iPad Pro. I’ve done the reading and tried the fixes. I’ve not lost data, but I’ve lost drives. Not trusting drives is a real problem, and I don’t think four corrupt drives is a coincidence; I tend to think something is going on between the Mac and the drives.

So thoughts on how to get the drives back in play? Without Disk Utility
