18.6 BUGS! CarPlay disconnects & sound settings ignored

Since the iOS 18.6 update my phone now ignores my phone sound settings, it plays keypad tones and message alert sounds despite all being turned off in settings.

Also, CarPlay constantly disconnects from the vehicle making it completely unusable.

I’ve tried forgetting my car and reconnecting, but this hasn’t worked. Every conceivable setting relating to sounds has been set to off, yet the phone keeps pinging despite this. Pretty incompetent that Apple coders are introducing bugs like this so late on in a iOS life cycle.

I too am experiencing CarPlay issues since updating to 18.6. Can't say that I've experienced the symptoms you've described.

the issue I noticed was that the music audio quality changed significantly. Heightened and more saturated bass. I ran through the gambit of protocols. Resetting EVERYTHING. Removing device from vehicle CarPlay. Removing vehicle from phone. Hard reset phone. Hard reset vehicle infotainment. Verifying the vehicle didn't also do an update. etc. Reported issue to Apple. Went through a few exercises with them. Expressing AND inquiring if an audio tweak of some kind, was inadvertently (or even intentionally) was part of the CarPlay update contained within 18.6. No confession from Apple rep nor remote clue of what all was part of the CarPlay update. I'm a sound engineer and decades long musician. I know audio. There was a change made. Apple seems to be unable to humble themselves and fess up "yeah, you're right, a tweak was made".
