when you wake up the scree you can swipe to the right and you access the widgets and other stuff maybe there’s a hole that enables the access to in tjis
case iMessage. I don’t know.

Sure, we can have previously-unknown lock-screen bypass, or we can have a person aim the phone at you and gain access that way.

Given this is an ongoing issue and whatever the trigger, I’d also avoid handing an expensive electronic device to an individual with a track record of causing device issues.

Want to run a test, switch to a new passcode, and disable Face ID. Or switch to a new passcode, and use some opaque tape to block the Face ID sensor temporarily.

Assuming the iPhone was locked when handed, Face ID probably successfully scanned your face while the two people and the phone involved were all moving around.

Other outcomes here include damaged devices, and an unavailable device that then needs a reset and restore.

A little older and the mayhem can get far more pernicious, as youngsters have been successful trashing their elders’ iPhone hardware, as well as absconding with their passwords, mayhem with mail, deleting subscriptions, deleting photos, and deleting saves from favorite card games.
