Unable to see keyboard display on MacBook Pro M1 after MacOS Sequoia 15.6 update

Community, after updating and installing MacOS Sequoia 15.6, I am not able to have access to the see the display on the keyboard, where you can control the play, increase volume etc.. on my MacBook Pro M1. It has gone totally dark

What do I do?

That would be the "Touch Bar" or "Control Strip."


Go to System Settings, look for Keyboard, and select Touch Bar Settings" and check all the Settings there, especially to make sure it is "on." You can also look at the "customize" option in there.

Have you shut down and restarted more than once since your 15.6....(?)



On the M—series mac you can try—


A SafeBoot Start up your Mac in safe mode - Apple Support will sort many anomalies

Login and test. Reboot as normal and test. Caches get rebuilt automatically
