Airplay devices not showing … how do I manage airplay devices?

Apple Music trying to play to different AirPlay devices from a variety of iPads Max and phones.

The list of AirPlay devices is incomplete, many devices are missing. Only happened since the latest iPadOS update or equivalent on other devices.

Is there a way to manage the devices that appeal on the list? Is there a way to force a device to rescan for AirPlay devices?

All devices have been restarted, both audio destinations and audio sources. Never use it with Apple TV would like to remove those from the list of audio destinations. Network has also been restarted.

Thanks.

By the way, having real trouble posting here because of the tag your question nonsense which does not seem to have options that are suitable for any questions… They are all too specific as if it is one device! Apple is an ecosystem their forums are a mess. Do I have to repost for every combination of os and hardware. Is AirPlay distinct on different versions of music?

Sorry I don't know where you are viewing the list ?

Apple Support's online article: Use AirPlay to stream audio - Apple Support

Eg: says:

"Stream audio automatically from iPhone or iPad

Depending on your AirPlay & Continuity settings, your iPhone or iPad can suggest or automatically connect to devices you regularly use with AirPlay.

To adjust your AirPlay & Continuity settings:

  1. Go to Settings on your iPhone or iPad with the latest version of iOS.
  2. Tap General.
  3. Tap AirPlay & Continuity > Automatically AirPlay.
  4. Choose a setting.
    • Never: Manually choose a device for AirPlay.
    • Ask: Get suggested AirPlay connection notifications. Tap the suggested AirPlay connection notification to make the connection, or dismiss or ignore it and manually choose a different device for AirPlay.
    • Automatic: Get suggested and automatic AirPlay connection notifications. Dismiss or ignore the automatic AirPlay connection notification, then tap play in the app you are using to use the connection. Or tap the undo button to quickly disconnect and manually choose a different device for AirPlay."
