sync issue on Mac M1 desktop after 15.6 update possibly iCloud related

I updated iMac M1 (2021 16GB) to Sequoia 15.6 a few days ago and the desktop/finder files are reverted to my older 2020 Mac layout/files instead of my current iMacs desktop.

It asked me about syncing iCloud when I updated and I think that did it.

I failed to find a settings option in the iCloud menu, the Finder menu, or the desktop. I'm unsure how to change it back.

To provide further info, the desktop wallpaper, the external devices list, and everything else is current and normal. My 2025 desktop files are seperated into a folder called (Desktop - RJ's iMac (2). I'd much rather it be reversed-- with the older 2020 iMac (1) back synced as such, and the 2025 desktop restored.

Any suggestions, help, or ideas would be welcome. I hope this isn't too idiosyncratic.
