Camera not working on my MacBook Pro despite restart and terminal commands

Try using the built-in app Photo Booth to test the camera.

If you are using a third party app to access the camera, then you need to make sure that the Privacy & Security System Settings for the Camera are configured to allow the third party app to access the camera.

Is it recognized by the system info? if not you have a hardware failure

The last time I had the same issue, the camera was about to start, green light starts and then fails after sometime. It got solved with an update.

But the issue cropped again after the latest update on 12th or 13th August. The camera fails to start. Sometimes the green light blinks at reboot. It is definitely a firmware or software issue.

If System Information does not detect the Builtin camera of this Laptop

This is a Hardware Issue !

Should this be an Intel Computer you may try a NVRAM Reset and or a SMC Reset

Perform the actions 3x consecutively

Have the computer evaluated by the Professionals who have the Special Hardware Software and Expertise to diagnose the issue and offer possible solutions

Make an Appointment at the Apple Genius Bar or call 1 800 MyApple and have them evaluate the computer

How many USB things do you have plugged in?

None. I use wireless(bluetooth) mouse and earphones.
