Not getting any recommendations to free up memory in Mac mini Settings

I am trying to free up memory and I don't get "Recommendations" when I'm in Storage in my Settings. The instructions online say this will provide me with possible options. Am I to assume that my very smart Mac has no recommendations or do I have a real issue?

Not getting recommendations ?

I asked an AI what this could possible mean

Low and behold, we may have been looking in all the wrong directions

Recommendations are normally a question present to Siri and deepening on the Users' Choice and Configurations within

System Setting >> Apple Intelligence & Siri

There might be suggestions / recommendations as part of the AI response

The recommendation that has been made in the past is after all else fails to reduce the usage space and to address the System data number you need to erase then migrate from TM. However, your system data number is not high so not sure that recommendation applies in this case. But in general to try to fix issues you should erase then migrate from your TM backup.

FYI, to everyone who offered suggestions @Owl-53 and @neuroanatomist and @tbirdvet and others.

Just got through chatting with Apple Support and per the conversation:

Per checking our resources, these recommendations are triggered when the system detects that your startup disk is nearing capacity, often when it reaches a critical threshold like 10% or less remaining.

So - I panicked for no reason. (However all the screenshots on the Apple site showed "Recommendations"). Only wanted everyone to know the solution in hopes it will benefit someone else!

When the computer alerts the use ( you ) that the computer is running out of Not Memory but Disk Space

It usually means exactly what it means

Wich was the Original Thrust of one of the first replies to this issue

The quickest and most efficient way to possible remove this issue has been suggest much earlier

To be exact - the second posting in you question

That or purchase a new or newer computer with at least 1 TB Storge Capacity and maybe 16 GB Unified RAM

I shall not pester any further

I respectfully disagree with the Apple Support agent with whom you chatted. I see the Recommendations offerings, and using 700 GB of my 2 TB SSD (i.e., 35% full) is no where near any sort of critical space threshold.

Actually, you do have reason to be concerned

OP wrote " I did try to reinstall the OS, following the instructions of Apple. I got the message that I don't have enough memory. Should I have wiped it first? "

To answer the second part of your statement " Should I have wiped it first ? " - Yes

Which has been suggest by more than 1 contributor

According to your image which is included here
