Apple Watch Ultra 2 Action Button freezes on open workout screen

When I press the Action Button (set up to open a workout) on my Apple Watch Ultra 2, it goes directly to the quick switch screen, then displays emergency services buttons.

If I click the crown to go to the home screen, it will divert to the Open "Workout" screen and stay frozen there until I turn it off.

I just purchased the watch a week ago. It has done this maybe 3 times. It's worked perfectly for no apparent reason the next couple days then went back to this issue.

I spoke to Apple support via chat and was told to call or schedule at the genius bar. I've scheduled an appt, but I'm afraid it will stop doing the issue again and I will have nothing to show. I suspect I have a faulty watch.

Just curious if anyone has experienced this and if so, what the resolve was. Thanks!
